I have lived in Sheffield for a year and I can say that the time spent in Sheffield for me was one of the best experiences of my life. So here I am telling some things to know about the city of Sheffield in UK, one of which is the peaceful environment of the city which you have seen in the title. Other than this, some other things to know include;

Great for Students:
That is one of the things for which Sheffield is known i.e. as a student friendly city. This is because it has one of the best universities in the world; The University of Sheffield which has a great reputation in terms of international student experience. Hence students from all around the world come to this city for education and learning and the city also has a quiet and peaceful environment for students. The population of the city is not huge; hence the streets are not crowded but only at certain occasions such as Christmas, Boxing Day etc. People are friendly and welcoming.

Beautiful but cold:
Being cold is actually typical of the weather of UK, so same is the case with Sheffield and probably it is colder because of the hills. Sheffield is a hilly city and thus the weather is dominant by rainy and windy weather which can be daunting for people coming from hot countries who are not used to this type of weather. Nevertheless, despite the challenging weather, the city is beautiful and the hills look great while covered with snow. The city has many beautiful examples of classical British Architecture in the form of historical buildings such as Sheffield Cathedral, museums, iconic government buildings etc.

Weston Park, Sheffield, UK
One of the greenest cities in UK:
A pleasing aspect of the city is the fact that it is very green in fact one of the greenest cities in Britain. There are many parks in the city for long walks such as Ponderosa Forest, Crookes Valley Park, Weston Park and the Botanical gardens and you can find a spot always in these parks for relaxing or picnic. Near the city, there is Peak District which offers many tourist locations for witnessing the green hills of the villages with clear lakes.
Developed with traces of countryside living:
As I mentioned above, the city has the elements of country living because of its location near Peak District and has many parks where there are farm animals and a simple lifestyle can be observed. It does not mean that it lacks any element of a developed city as Sheffield has the developed transport systems comprising of buses, trams and trains and from the perspective of an international environment; every necessity is available such as theatres, sports clubs, libraries or pubs.
